That link would make a good candidate for a sticky.
Is there someway to do this? Do we have a link section or something?

Wow, and you have to wonder if, after so many years, they are even still around or not. Very neat.

Yeah, saf....this is a very cool site. It shows all the things the guy said it had and that I wanted. It's perfect. There were only 45, 96 Caprice wagons in this color....it's an Impala color. With the number made and the option list....I have a rare car. Yup, very neat, indeed.

Thanks, A1. I still can't figure out why this wagon didn't catch more action. But....I'm glad it didn't! This one seems to be worth parking inside during winter for sure. I Have all the records on the car from the previous 2 owners. The original owner that ordered the car from the dealer sounds like a PITA perfectionist like ME.:D He went back to the dealer time and time again complaining about the slightest things. Thought the carpet was wearing too fast where his foot rested by the gas pedal (dealer installed new carpet); rubber gasket was peeking out from under the driver's side head light (dealer replaced); Bumper was not aligned (dealer straightened); Molding on driver's side rear slightly discolored (dealer replaced)....you get the picture. LOL...There is a STACK of these nit picking complaints. I actually felt sorry for the dealer with this guy! Then, the second owner hardly drove the car. Mostly just to shows. Well, good to know the Fox still can spot them. Now...the wait for Spring is going to be a killer!

    Hey SF...

    Hi Guys,
Was offline yesterday...Getting ready for an office Christmas party...Only 80 peeps this year and we were cleaning up by 10pm.
    Anyway,,,,
    Now I remember...
I think the big wagons back in the 90's didn't/couldn't maintain the numbers because of the (don't hate me here) Mini vans and compact wagons. Kind of like the full sized vans falling out of favor..for the minis. Shameful but true!!! Not many women wanted a big car or a big van and the gas prices climbed...so there we go. Also, some peeps(GM), I would assume, thought Chevys' couldn't support the kind of numbers(and prices) that Buick could, with RWD. But, they were still keeping it in the family sorta speak. It also seems like Chevy knew they needs something else so they did the SS thing, to attract the guys who would push for a haul-butt wagon over something else(the wagon/van fence setters, as it were).
But that's just my take on it.
I had some retired friends in GM mgmt./marketing, back then, and they got out because GM was more into short term reaction than planning plotting and staying, their course. Among other things!!!
Oh well SF, you have ONE COOL set of wheels (that we wouldn't probably have appreciated that much in the 90'{SS}) if you get my drift!!!
    Later,
    Bruce
Ps. If we need to do some Midnight Justice work, give me a call...I havn't gotten into trouble in a looong time "=)
Ampy, I was just making fun of the pic, we used to do the same thing with our tents, but I thought you might be the photog there!!!

Thanks a lot, wix. I appreciate kind comments from a guy that has an eagle eye even better than mine. I still say that the coolest wagon EVER will be yours when finished. Maybe even NOW! I'm liking mine a lot. I really am. I have zero buyer's remorse.
Hey, bstout....yup...I did a little reading on the low build numbers for the 96 GM wagons. The numbers were falling off during the previous years so they built very few wagons in 96. After Amp called me about the stereo thing I don't think I will need any midnight justice. Seems it can be up and running without much trouble. I appreciate the offer but I've been around for a long time and, like I mentioned in another thread...I have low friends in high places. I am well armed in that regard. Funny thing....when Amp called me about it....his friend the photographer was there with him. Seems he is real car guy too! Amp lives cars. A great thing for a 25 year old. Amp restored my confidence in young people.

Bstout, I always Ford totally, totally missed the mark when they redesigned the Crown for '92 and didn't come out with a wagon. My Ford reps told me it was because the sales #'s on the 90,91 full size wagons were too low to justify including a wagon in the redesign. It was always my contention that the reason the sales #'s were so low was because it hadn't been totally updated and freshened since the downsizing in '79. I remember I had a 91 Country Squire as a demo in '91 and my friends thought it was so cool I had a classic car. It was brand new, fcol, and it looked so dated, those not in the know thought it was old. I kind of had the reputation of being a pain in the neck manager from all the Ford guys because I'd bust their chops everytime they'd come by the dealership to come back out with the Country Squire. I used to lie and tell them I had 9 or 10 people walk out of the store every week once they found out Ford didn't have a full size wagon anymore!!

I get your drift...I kinda like the 'one call does it all', theory of nite justice. Zero buyer remorse and a little pep in the step to boot. Kinda a confidence builder...dontchaknow???
I really do like the looks of your wagon and the price seems really reasonable!!! The engine is also a great platform to build on also.
So where are you planning to go with the SS???
    Hey Snoot...
Those corporate types are like the Men are from Mars...thing. They get a set of numbers in their head...then damn the torpedos!!! Can't much beg them to change. Look how long it took them to bring back the Camaros...Getting money from our dear Uncle and setting on millons of potential profits...I hope there's a special place they go when they leave this world...Cuz I really don't want them around me!!!
    Later Guys,
    Bruce

I think they wind up in that place with all the odd socks and lost valve spring keepers. The other place doesn't want them either.

    Steve...
We should designate the 11th. level for those kinds of peeps. I think we could nominate and vote(second thought-forget the vote), and they will do their time in a HATCHBACK...
    an Opel Kadette Hatchback!!!
Gives me the shivers thinking about a 67 Opel...
    Go with it...
    Bruce
Ps. Maybe down there where the oil changers, kick the stuff to the side???
And discard whatever is stuck under the cars???
or the car wash pit...where they collect the water???
    Work on it!!!
