I just roll down the windows, pop open the glass on the tailgate and turn up the tunes! It's all good! :dancing:

Yep, makes sense to leverage what you have. I've been lounging under the trees out back today and it might rain tonight and cool things off a bit. I'll take heat any day over cold which makes my joints come apart it seems. On the other hand my bride does not like it when it gets about 75 or so. Of course as a lady past the mid years she seems to have her own internal hot/cold she can't control, something I'm darned glad I don't have. Mind you, I still have to deal with it, if you get my drift :rofl2:

That's great, but I wonder how different it would be with GOOD winter tires under those cars. All seasons just do NOT cut it in my books.

We haven't had it as bad as some. But we really could use a rain...my water lilies aren't even floating any more, there standing out of the water...poor frogs are having a hard time reaching them to have rest.

We've had the AC off about a week here at the Moto household. Beautiful taste of fall in the air this week here in Coweta Co. :whew: and :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

I'm tempted to take my AC out of the window, but am afraid to jinx it!

I feel the same way, I know if I take my AC window unit out out now it will be an unpredicted 95 degrees every day for a month afterwards.:rofl2:
I could install central air but spending money on cars is more important, my one and only AC unit is cooling my private subterranean fortress of solitude/Woman Hate-Us Club clubhouse, as long as me and the dogs are cool I'm happy.:yippee:

I hear ya, there. To install Central Air, I'd have to have central heat first lol!

Been here over 18 years and the central AC went out the second year. Had it charged and the next summer it didn't cool again, altho the AC guy said there was no leak. Bought a large 110 wiindow unit for thr main house and three of those $100 small units for bedrooms. Keep bedrooms and one bath closed during day. Use small window unit in bedroom at night. This was temporary till we got a new furnace/ AC.
We are still doing it that way. Added a wall mount ventless LP gas heater with those ceramic tiles for winter. Rarely use the furnace. We cool approximately for half the cost of neighbors with fancy AC etc.
Yes, it gets into teens occasionally and the regular furnace may kick on. The large AC shoulda been a 220V larger unit but in Florida window units are not always available.....Until after you've already bought the smaller unit! So far it works. Don't fix it! And yes the compresser never shuts off when the temp outside is in the 90's.
A new central AC/furnace is over $5.000+. Another 110V window unit may cost $250-$300. So far 16+ years and holding. I can buy a lot of car junk for $4500+.

It's like my dad always says, "It's only temporary, unless it works!"
