Do bedliners hold moisture between the steel floor and the liner? That would be my only concern. Too bad you couldn't get it powder coated.

Yeah....they do, Norm. I'm HOPING that he meant they were going to tuf cote it or something in the paint family rather than drop one of those plastic liners in there.

I'll agree Fox, I sure hope there won't be a plastic liner in there although i don't think Orth would go for that. I ( my own opinion) hope the box colour matches the paint.....it would have back in the day, rite?

Alright fellers, parently I've been busy.

When I say we are going to have the bed "lined" I mean we are going to have a spray-in "line-X" style material applied.

No plastic in this car. Good call Tedy.
Heck, I doubt they even make a plastic drop in liner for 63 Ranchero's (there's a challenge for you Norm ;))

Now, as far as the color of the bed, there has been some debate as to whether or not it should be black or body color.

Executive decision has been made. Going with body color.

On my way to the body shop this afternoon I passed one on the high way.

It's an old two lane. I almost flipped a U-ee and gave chase.
    Almost.

It was kinda crazy. Off-white paint too. Some old timer driving it down the road. For a nano second I thought it must be mine. Then I remembered mine looks like this:

I've got the PDF version of that article with all the Specs on suspension. Lots of pics with straw bales and stuff for the 'gentrified farmer' :rofl2:

Its from the 1995 edition of Collectible Magazine, written by Dick Nesbit, titled:

    1981-1982 Durango:
    The Should-Have-Been Ranchero Replacement.

The Durango ran a 2.3L Turbo at 140 HP.

    Here's the Sun Coupe model:

Progress pics from two days ago.

Already replaced the rear quarters. The spot roughly outlined ahead of the rear pass side wheel well was dented in purty good. My father-in-law filled it with bondo back in the old days (I saw it, it was about an inch thick) they are going to put a patch panel in there as well.

    Stopped by yesterday after work.
They had the panel in on the pass side and had patched the hole in the roof.
When I got out of the truck I realized it wasn't in the bay any more.
It was in the paint booth.

Gonna spray the primer and then get to blocking it.

Here's what it looked like yesterday evening.

Looking good. That body shop definitely knows what they're doing. Great job.
