I was in a toy store the other day with my oldest son and we were looking at their selection of Diecast cars and trucks.
I couldn't believe it when I came across this little Ranchero!
It's not a 63, but the 60-61 nose is pretty close.
It was very reasonably priced, so I bought it for my Father-in-law.

About what I expected for the price. At least the hood does open and there is detail, it's just all black...

Interior is very similar to underhood. At least it has an instrument cluster.

Now it sits on the shelf in his office.

    Real deal and toy.

Looks pretty large. 1:18 scale, I assume?

A shame it's the wrong year. I checked E-Bay to see if there were any '63 Ranchero kits made - unfortunately not. Main ones being sold are 1960 and 1961 versions. In your case, if you were to build it, the '61 would probably be the better choice, as the grill is 'somewhat' similar to the '63. You still wouldn't have the correct 'pointy' fenders though.....

    Yes, It's 1:18 scale
I know it's the wrong year, which seems to be my luck whenever I find something relating to one of my vehicles. It always seems to be a year or two off.
But, it is still pretty close, the overall styling is the same, it's not as different as the 64/65 body.

I asked the clerk at the store that I purchased it from if, they had any other colors. I actually really like the way this looks in red, but was hoping they would have it in white. Only other color they had was green.

You could buy another one, disassemble it, strip the body, then prime and paint it gloss white. My late friend Dale did that with 1/18th models he had all the time.
