White one or Blue one... This morning I drove the Blue one. Windshield Fellers were at my house 8:00 sharp this morning. When I called em at 8:15 they already had the gasket in.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima Bumper pics:
Insure the heck out of her. I found this today, and couldn't believe what these falcons go for! http://www.falconparts.com/cars_for_sale.htm
Those guys are nuts. Honestly I can't believe what they were asking for some of those, and I can't believe some of them sold for those prices! It's a crazy world.
Its those sweet rounded fenders that the girlfriends like. More money than brains. Anyway, they are popular on the black market, so CYA.
Well, time for a little update. Windshield is in. Drove it to work Friday and one of my mechanics did the intake install. It's running like a stripped assed Tiger. Still have some little things that need done to complete the car, antennae, interior door handles, window cranks, steering wheel etc. overall, it's about done though. Took it down to the weekly cruise in Friday. Was awesome.
Incredible job. It looks fantastic and in such a short time. Orth, when did the restoration begin? Not that long ago, right?
Well, the first post was on March 8th, so it was right around that time that I started in on it. So, basically about 6 months. Went from sitting and not running for 10-15 years to cruiser in that amount of time.
Took these pics yesterday. Ranchito is basically ready to go. Needs an antenna, adapter plate for the Shelby style wood grain steering wheel, inside door handles and window cranks. Think that's about it.
No. Usually they are parked next to each other. Moved the Ranchito onto the street so that the sprinklers wouldn’t hit it when they came on (it's a nightly routine. I also move the Fury) Yessir, surely am. Last night I was out in the yard and a fella was walking by with his wife. He started chatting me up about the Fury (every time his wife got him moving again, he'd think of something else to say) Most people, first thing they ask is what year it is. Then this morning I was getting into the Ranchito and a guy who lives up the street was coming up the hill on his Harley. He saw me and hit the brakes so hard smoke came off the back tire. He backed down to my driveway and started talking to me about the Ranchito. I would have stayed and chatted longer, but I was on my way to work. Needless to say, I'm quite happy.
Got the new wood grain Shelby steering wheel installed. It took a little creativity, but I got the original Falcon horn button on there.
Very nicely done! I bought a kit for a Corvair with a similar wheel, and had to find a decal that fit in the middle of the any-brand wheel.
It's been a while since I've posted anything on this rig, (ok, really, REALLY a while) and I realized that I never really wrapped things up. We've done some recent work to it, so I figured I would share. We had been fighting a fuel problem since we got it back on the road a couple of years ago that was causing me to go crazy. It would run great for a while, but then would die. It had a tendency to leave me along side the road. I was actually starting to get gunshy of the whole thing. Then it was leaking oil and the coolant would magically disappear when it was driven, so we decided to pull the motor and check things out.
