I don't know the specifics but it is advertised by Dodge as being a fully functional scoop as it was in the '70s.
Scrutinizing the 1tire Dennis posted, it does look like there might be a pipe from the scoop area to the air box, behind the bellows type pipe that feeds the throttle body. Maybe Dennis can run out in the driveway, raise the hood and confirm??
Will have to look Monday when I get back to work. It was pre-sold so naturally when it came in the delivery driver unloading it had issues with the plastic steering wheel wrap from the factory. Between the factory, the rail yards and truck transport, the wrap was half off the steering wheel so the driver left it hanging off and when he spun the steering wheel to park it, it grabbed the multi-function switch, snapped it off and plastic got wrapped in wheel and assuming it got the wires on the clockspring and messed it up also somehow! The mechanic that does the Predelivery inspections had to order all that. Won't be in until Wednesday so owner was expecting it Monday....Hope I don't draw the short straw and have to call him!
Makes me wonder just how fragile these things really are! Also, if it is like it was a couple of years ago, a spare tire is NOT an option with the V-8! Personally, it is a giant no thank you for any of the new 'cars'. They are really not much more than a bunch of computers driving in close formation.
Yup. my older daughter had one of those 'front-drive Mustangs' as her first car. Had the name 'Probe' on it.......... It was 10 years old by the time we bought it. Nice V6. Handled pretty good. Lousy auto trans.
Even when I bought my new Dodge truck in 04 the little plastic radio BASS/TREBLE knobs were broke. The small red bezel around the TOW/HAUL lever kept falling off ( it's long gone now) and several other plastic doohickies were either broke, missing, or falling off. This was on a truck made to work........... Also the front door rubber was made wrong and let wind and water in. The good thing was they fixed or replaced everything but I still didn't like living in the dealership so much. That Challenger does look nice. But even if I had the money I'd get something else. Fannie-----> Doohickie. Another word for thingamabob or whatchamacallit.
If I had that kind of money for a shaker it would be mounted on a late 60's Fairlane fastback or Mach 1... but that's just me. mike
I was seriously looking at challenger when the economics of buying a new car stopped by to slap me upside the head. So, I bought my wagon. I save well over 500 hundred dollars a month between a car payment and insurance. Not to mention the fortune I would be spending on speeding tickets.
