Wagons are cool, eh? - 1970 Chevelle Nomad wagon To Fannie, Silverfox, the Rev, and all of you fellow wagonfreaks who have sent messages. I have enjoyed the nice comments about my old Chevelle from all of you on the thread. Thanks for your interest and your appreciation of our mutual "wagonfactor" or "wagonitis" or whatever it is that we all suffer from. It's kinda fun that our wagons are so different from most other cars, I think. I began driving the Nomad again from April 1, 2012 until July 7, 2012 to break in the new drivetrain (2010 Corvette LS3 crate w/550 flywheel h.p., 6 spd. Tremec gearbox, Moser/Chevy 3.73:1 12 bolt posi., 4 whl. Wilwood discs, DSE steering gear and Level 3 suspension front and rear) which was all engineered/swapped/fabricated/installed into the wagon during late spring, 2011 to late March, 2012 by my younger brother, who is a motorhead and a mechanical wizard. You should all have such a brother as mine. And, on July 7, 2012 after 3,500 breakin miles, I delivered the car to the body and paint shop for its beauty appointment. Said brother and I could have done the cosmetic work, but we both have regular jobs and not enough free time to devote to our hot rod projects, so I saved my money and found some cool professionals who appreciate the car and who know their stuff and are in the process of a complete interior/exterior cosmetic redo which is based on my custom design plan that I formulated from spring, 1999 when I first bought the car, until late winter/early spring, 2008 when I fried the clutch pulling a heavy trailer forcing me to park it until brother could begin the mechanical restoration in 2011. I've driven a lot of high-powered muscle cars over the years, and this wagon would run off and leave all of them. It is scary quick and scary fast. WOW!! But, only "on track", of course! Anyway, I appreciate all of your kind comments and I will have new progress photos to post very soon. Thanks again, more soon.
That's a great story, just wondering is your brother adoptable? We are so looking forward to your pics, thanks for joining.
