Went to the hubbards site...... new metal will cost about $2000. Plus shipping.......!!! The patch pans will not be enough...... must replace toe pan.. main floor pan.. under rear seat pan... all the braces... And on top of that I have to salvage the left front kick panel area from the Ventura along with the rockers...... I have been looking at different tailgates..... If I can’t find a Pontiac one I think I can get away with a Chevy tailgate..... just have to change the outer skin to make it Pontiac.... ( not as easy as it sounds ) Can any one tell me what the deal is with posting pictures......???? Thank you
I didn't know you needed all the other parts but that's why I say go to Daytona. if they dont have it in stock at the show most venders offer free shipping
Good morning everyone Thinking of putting a different frame under the wagon...... something a little more modern.... Maybe mid 80’s full size van or truck...... wagon.... Maybe mid 90’s wagon..... Buick Roadmaster...?? Just have to get as close to the wagons wheelbase.... 122..... I think Any thoughts or ideas....?? Thank you
If I don’t use a different frame..... where can I get everything I need to fix original frame......??? Need..... fuel tank... fuel lines... brake lines...brake hoses... Brakes {maybe disk upgrade}... body bushings...suspension bushings{control arms sway bar bushings....ball joints..... steering parts...left front frame horn.....clean prep and paint everything...... No point in fixing just what is broken and leave the rest alone to save money..... I have to spend some money on the floors...... maybe I’ll find another wagon in better shape...?? then I have the locked up engine to deal with..... hopefully the transmission is ok....? Any thoughts... ideas.... help.... is greatly appreciated....... I don’t want to bail on this project...!! Thank you
Oh and I still can’t post pictures......!!! And I have quite a few since I started working on the wagon.......
biggest issue I could see with the frame swap is I believe your wagon is an x-frame like mine. i'm guessing that swapping the frame far any full chassis would have the same issues as the aftermarket frames which is the factory floor pan won't fit so you need custom floor which needs to be raised in body slightly
as far as the suspension and brakes you can call summit racing. real problems will be weatherstripping
If I do swap frames I will lift the body a little bit so not to have to change the floors...... I’ve been all over the internet and I can only find few things....... That’s why I was concerning a more modern frame swap...... Just never did anything this involved in my driveway..... lol
