yeah, unfortunately it doesn't take much of a hit in the rear of these things to make them ridiculously expensive to fix.

After doing a lot of thinking, I believe that when I put The Clam back together (if I ever find a parts car) I'm going to have the woodgrain hand painted rather than buying more vinyl graphics. The stuff I bought last time has not held up AT ALL.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about. How did you go about finding someone who you could trust to do it?
Did you get samples? Is that a matte finish? Where do babies come from?

It was on my car when I bought it. Someone in Maryland did it. It has a matte clear over the top. Only way to do it though. It's awesome

Thanks guys. From this I found another guy that has a '71 Safari. He said he would be willing to sell the front end (again, this is a different car than the first one I mentioned) but that some are damaged and his initial prices were pretty steep. I'm on a budget because I'm having to use the insurance money so I'm hoping I can get these parts and piece together the rest at a good enough price as well. The front of the car is going to have to be repainted, so that's going to be an expensive part.

Does this guy want to sell the Pontiac Wagon body? I need a clean one to replace sheet metal on my dad's Pontiac Wagon airport limos.

No, he doesn't want to sell the body. I asked him that right off, hoping I could get the whole thing just to have some extra rear doors, which are wagon specific and the rear panels and whatnots.

Aw man, that'd be so awesome! I found a guy that was an acquaintance of a guy that actually lived here in TN. His name was Tom I think. I was super excited but he wanted much more than I could give and two of the parts I needed were dented or busted.

    Thanks Swanny!

Is that the wrong car/woodgrain pic??
That woodgrain sure looks like the Teak vinyl film sold by Rwraps? I looked at it in several shades when I did my former Vista Cruiser. I distinctly remember the very close pattern repeat, the knots look like satellite images of consecutive hurricanes over the Atlantic to me. If it was painted by a human with an airbrush he/she was a virtual digital printer and copied the Rwraps vinyl.
