Well we said another good bye today. It was my last day at our Flaunt & Flash car show. After a week or so of cool rainy weather, the sun and warm temperatures arrive just in time the car show.
Oddly I don't feel sad about it, I actually feel a bit relieved. I will miss a lot of the folks that I have come to know over the past 13 years and the car show but I am glad someone else is taking it on.
I did what I usually do, direct the cars to park. I only took a few pictures than said goodbye.

Thanks for the photos Jennifer. It sounds like you are at peace with it and that's good.

Hey Jennifer, hoping you, your family and friends are not having issues with the huge rains we're reading about on the news. It sounds like this has been a devastating hit for big parts of the Province.

Thank you Barry, for your concern. It has been just as crazy as the fires, but perhaps worse. The damage has been so wide spread roads, bridges homes and businesses are washed away or under water. More devastating is there are four people missing two children, a youth and a man from two sperate incidents.

4 people missing, dozens displaced from devastating flooding across N.S. | Globalnews.ca

We were very lucky we were not affected by the storm. There was a VERY heavy rain and thunder/lightening storm that went on longer than any I have ever seen before. In our area it started about 4:00pm and continued actively for about 5-6 hours. About the time I was going to bed it had was fairly quiet. But through the night it started up again.
In the morning we decided that I would drive to Parrsboro and check on the new place and Hubby would stay in Stewiacke to hold down the fort. We were expecting a second night of the same kind of weather.
But as it turned out, in Parrsboro there was hardly any signs of a storm. It must have been bad through the night though as people were talking about it at a couple of places that I had stopped. Band Day (Parrsboro Shore Events - July) that was planned went on without a trouble. I actually walked over in the evening to enjoy a concert by Lenny Gallant.
However, Hubby said they did have more thunder/lightening in Stewiacke but it wasn't as bad as Friday. I really couldn't believe the damage on the news when I got home. I have no TV or internet at the new place yet and no data on my phone. Thank you for your concern.

Weather is really getting very scary all over the world.

It's so sad to read about the four people who are missing. Every day is a gift and I try my best not to take anything or anyone in my life for granted. In a New Y9rk Minute they, or I, can be missing in action. And thankfully you have not had to deal with the issues other parts of the Province are. We are so dry on Vancouver Island it's scary to think that just one person flipping a lit cigarette out the window could wipe out the area we live in, given we're surrounded by forest and fields of grain and grass that are all extremely dry. We are at the highest level of water rationing, it's concerning.
We used to enjoy watching the lightning and thunder storms roll across the Milk River ridge when we lived on the prairies, but now that we live in a tinder box we would prefer that they don't happen out this way, but we'd certainly take a lot of rain.
Stay safe and thank you for letting us know how things are there.

Yeah, I used to live in Everett, and even when the fires were on the East side of the Cascades, smoke, heat and ash made it across. I could not imagine if it was dry enough in-town for houses and old buildings made of wood to catch and burn.

All four bodies of the missing have been found.

A 52 yr old man was found first, than the two 6 year old children and today the 14 year old youth was found. It's a miracle that she wasn't takin out to sea. As her body made it down a river and into the Bay of Fundy. She was found in Advocate Harbour which is not far from Parrsboro.

    Onto some happier news...:bouncy:

    Our house has sold!:bananaman:

I am taking two weeks vacation so we can get moved, then I am going back to work for one week, to help with inventory. We have a new manager and I just couldn't leave her in that pickle. My position has not been filled, no one seems to be applying...guess I'm irreplaceable. :rednose:

My sister out west was the first to book her flight to come visit. She's coming the end of September, staying about a week. She was quickly followed by my mom's younger sister and hubby. They are coming the early part of October staying about two weeks and will be here for Thanksgiving. Busy busy...EEE.

Congratulations on the sale of your now former home. That's a huge step forward to your retirement. Helping out with the inventory is probably a huge relief for the new manager. I'm not surprised that you would offer to do that, I think that helping others is just part of the way you live your life. They will miss you.
Exciting adventures are awaiting you once you are finally done with working for others.

Congratulations Jennifer! That’s got to be a load off. Now all of the things you listed are finite times. Before you know it, you’ll be entertaining your company, and events like “inventory” will be a million miles away in a previous world. Time to focus on YOU! Your new house is lovely, and it sounds like you have the red carpet out. That alone speaks volumes on the person you are. Again congrats, and onto the next chapter!

    Thank you.
You're right we are a step closer and it is a relief knowing that the house sold but I will wait until we have turned over the keys and have the cheque in hand to get to excited.
