Truthfully... neither. I hate my birth name. It is so unforgivably common that I have a step brother with the same 1st, middle and last name, and I have a cousin with the same name, and not to mention all the kids I went to school with who had the same name. I never wanted to move here to joplin but we did and I felt like just trying to become a new person. I have already had to have nicknames in the past due to my name so this time I chose my own. I love keys and I collect them. I have almost 300 with around 100 or so of them being skeleton keys. It didn't take very long before it stuck and then virtually every one I knew didn't know me by anything else. I won't respond to my birth name except when legally needed. Even my wife agrees that Keys just seems like it is my natural name. So when I introduce myself That is what people hear... except online, of coarse. Some day my name will legally be Keys... plus my last name, which I have chosen my stepdad's as my own because he was a very respectable man and he did his best raising me. My biological father just wants to be friends and won't let me have anything to do with "his" family... long story for some other time. As for the Kia ain't nobody gonna know... About the almighty FORUM!!!
X-, I like calling you X, that is a very interesting story. I grew up with school mates who I never really knew their real names till recently. Many people hate theirr names. Way back in the middle ages Jack Benny, comedian, had a co star on named Dennis Day. Don't know why but dear ole mommy liked that. I was born on Robert E Lee's birthday. Therefore I was known through out the kingdom as Dennis Lee Sharp! Then trouble began. Dennis the Menis became a cartoon character. In school I was recrowned Dennis the Menis. Spelled wrong I am sure! Wife's name is Dollie because she was a tiny doll. She hates it. Most love it including me. Dolly Parton was born on my birthday. Her and wife look a little alike. So she gets teased about that. i still love it. She still hates it! So much for wagon content. But we are getting to know each other.
Thanks for posting up pics of the Optima. Not picking on you - just the car..... When I first saw pics of the 'updated' Kia Optima for 2003, I thought they were joking with that shark teeth grill. I mean seriously.....? Here's a pic of the 2002 Optima. Why didn't they just leave well enough alone? 2003.....: For 2004, they came back to reality.....: Keep in mind here, 2002 - 2004 it's all the same basic car.
The shark teeth were an attempt to add 'sportiness' to the car. However, it just doesn't match the overall design of the car. The pic of the black '03 looks like something out of futuristic, badly made, post-apocalyptic B-movie. All its missing is the turret gun.
