I liked this one when we first saw it. Very nicely done. Still like David's better, though......

I clicked on the link. While the car looks good from a distance there seems a lot of problems with it.

One where the rear door frames looks to be rusting and cracking through the paint,so I wonder if the welds are breaking a part?

Two the dash is all cracked up.

Three the headliner is coming down.

Four the interior is all stained up.

So I can see why the reserve wasn't met there is a few problems that can easily corrected or he needs to adjust his price for the next owner to correct the problems.

I do admit 2 dr wagons look great and they should have never stopped making them.

So I would say Foxy go for it and pay attention to the details and yours will come out a lot better than that Caprice posted.

Shame about the rust popping up. Like the ad says though, looks great from 10ft or so. I'm loving the concept even more now. Hope someone gets the Caprice fixed up.

Someone will get it. But I think he needs to lower his price a lot. I hope you will continue your project and start a build thread from start to finish. I bet you could get all rust free parts here.

I like it also, the car show pic must have been a lonnnnngg time ago.

.I also wonder by the crack if welding and just how thick the mud was spread on.

Sharp looker in this pic though

Yes, that's a lot of work, but note how by using the coupe quarter windows, the line at the bottom of the window does not line up with the bottom of the wagon rear side window. Oh, well, it all comes down to how much work you really want to put into it.

I didn't even notice that until you mentioned it, and I've been staring at it from every angle and it still doesn't bother me. I like that the rear windows look higher than the lines leaving the quarter windows... I think it kinda enhances the raised part of the roof.

I asked my wife to look at it from a purely aesthetic, artistic perspective (otherwise she'd just roll her eyes and say "whatever, looks like a car") and she agrees with Joe. The windows look sloppy and disharmonious. Oh well...

Well if you look at a 2 door the shape of the car is bowed I almost bought a aerocoupe from the junkyard and looked at other 2 dr Impala or Caprice they all had the upside down smile or frown look.
