LMAO @ Krash. Hey.... I happen to be the world's only living brain donor! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima tsh tsh da bump! tssshh
the 4 6 8 was 1st, 1981 1 year only. The POS HT4100 was next. Not bad unless you did not like a rapping engine. RAP RAP RAP
Those Caddy engines STILL have piston slap, Jeffrey. And the 4100 had many other issues besides that. I'm telling you....they could let loose at any minute from any place inside that POS. Why Caddy insists on continuing to fight that aluminum block is beyond my comprehension. Mid to late 90's the engine would warp the intake and/or heads and pull the bolts right up from the block. The fix? Install steel blocks in the block to screw into! At a cost of $5K to the owner because Caddy still won't admit to any problems with that engine. If it says Northstar....stay away. It's just like the old 4100....it may last for 250K miles or 250 feet!
I once had an Audi with a 90° V-6. Talked about cramped. Citroen Maseratis are also supposed to be mechanics' nightmares
Here's one block you wouldn't want dropping on even a steel-toed boot of yours. The entire engine weighs almost twice that of an older Japanese subcompact and the crankshaft alone supposedly weighs more than an adult person :
