HEY STICK....if you get back to this thread....can I see a pic of your Fiero?? I wasn't aware that you were into those as well as wagons (yeah, Steve...I know it's in his sig..). I always liked them and wanted to build one at one time but other things came along. Only thing about them I didn't like I already mentioned above. A sore ass after driving them. But...I think if Pontiac would have originally come out with that car with a better engine set up it would have taken off.
Ok, 302 Delorion..cool...BUT did'nt really turn my crank, why would you post a Utube vidio of ..how many times did it stall??
i hug my fords all the time..(jens focus and my fords when i had em) not because they run better but because i love my fords
Somebody call my name? I heard my presence was requested. Ok leasons about to begin so make sure you take notes there will be a test. Ok the Fiero started off with the 2.5L 4cyl Iron Duke. They were much maligned in the first year or so because the con rod subcontractor had no quality control as they were getting paid by the ton and 1 in 4 rods were bad. The engine wasn't bad just the parts going into them. Then they added the 2.8L V-6 which is another good engine. Both if taken care of will give many many miles of enjoyment. Now as for Fiero's and the engines they can take it's more than any other car I know. They can take the previous engines that they came with plus the engines made from them. Pontiac made a race version of the Iron Duke. Displacements from 2.5L to 3.3L could be had all from that 4 cylinder. And to around 450hp NA. The 2.8L V-6 also came in the forms of 3.1L, 3.2L, 3.4L and 3.4L DOHC. All fit with no mods other than wiring and computer. Then there is the 3.8L V-6 Buick engine both in NA, supercharged and turbocharged version. Again fits with little mods like wiring computer, engine mounts. Then there are the caddy 4.1L to 4.9L V-8's that bolt right up. The Caddy Northstar or Olds Aurora also bolt in. Then there is the SBC or BBC that need adapterplates. And EcoTech can also be fitted. I also know someone that has done a VR6 VW engine that has been put in a Fiero. One can also do longitudinal set ups using the Olds Toranado transaxles. Or some have used other transaxles like that from Porches. Now here is the only Fiero I have left and it is forsale at this point as well. I am trying to fund my Vette brakes for the wagon. It is an IMSA bodied Fiero. Pontiac wanted to go racing in the IMSA series so they created a flared fender body for the Fiero to go racing with and made it so one could buy similar body panels for their street Fiero. Pontiac also made it so anyone could buy the same race engine. My car had both when I bought it. The engine that was in it is pretty much gone. I still have the block. But I did buy another Super Duty race engine. I have never run that engine but was told it made 386hp. Here is that car.
WHOA!! Can't hardly recognize it as a Fiero! NICE, Stick. Should have known since it's yours. How much you asking?
