    Your version of the pulsejet?

I've seen other uses for it too, but usually involved with more efficient combustion. John's design partner was a clarinet player in the Vancouver Symphony, and resolved one of the major obstacles with his knowledge of music. Peak efficiency was reached with sonic frequency modulation.

From that point, they could adjust the venturis and tube lengths to optimize burning or superheating the various byproducts to extract the nasty emissions and maintain the quality of the useful qualities of the coal. They went further and achieved similar results with Natural Gas, too.

It has many other uses too, and one of the areas where they spent a lot of time, was muffling the 'buzz'. They finally got it down on smaller units for domestic hotwater tanks, on natural gas.

You might want to look at Bosch's new Steam Ovens. We can't get them here, but I think there's some application there.

I hate to always be the skeptic but, don't you wonder why these inovations are always 18 months away?

I did some surfing last nite. They're off the shelf, now in Germany. A company called Enginion AG. No idea on cost.

But here's a better picture of how it looks under the 1963 Falcon hood:

Here's a train version of what they call a Fireless Cooker:

But did you know that Sacramento, CA has a solar-powered steam train?

There's actually quite a few systems around and commercially available for switching, and as usual in anything new, lots of people experimenting.

That 1963 Falcon got a 33.5 Kwh Steam V-Twin motor. That would be about what 55 HP? Sounds low, but its from a standing start, not at peak RPM. I'll keep digging around and collecting info.

I'll see if I can find more detail, too.

Here's the major domo of Steam Automobile forums:

Lots of discussion on the Pritchard system, mainly because it operates at lower temperatures. I don't see why it wouldn't be perfect for a rear-mounted system, with only side-mounted condenser rads like the aluminum rads from a corvette. I did that in my Corvair pickup when I installed a Chevy 283 to the transaxle (backwards). Went like stink! and popped wheelies in the first 3 gears! :biglaugh: Hard on mufflers though.

    Only in England You Say?

It isn't a Tetley Tea ad.

They've got a long Steam Car tradition in the UK:

Good links to all of Europe's Steam folk.

I hate to always be the doubting Thomas but where is the working car? Everybodys working but nothing is running!

I'm very skeptical about this. Mr. Stanley has died and no one has revived the idea that I can see.:disagree:

No pain, no gain. His wife, Marion Pritchard, is the director. She short-listed me for updates and potential test trials. hehehe.

I'm skulking around our programs for a research grant. We just got our new Government's 'Throne Speech', announcing new 'green incentives' for R&D, so who knows? They may help with deferring freight and duties from the Land of OZ. :D
