Technically they are all Ramp trucks. But the red, blue, and white ones are called wedgeback and the black one is called a dovetail. The wedges are a straight wedge hence the name where as the dovetails are flat at the top. They really are the coolest things. Thanx for posting a pic of mine in your other post. BTW the black one and mine are both Hodges bed. And the company is still around making them. Really not as expensive as you might think.
ok, ya i noticed that one was flat and then the other ones were straight but i wasnt sure if it was different......and the red one was yours ??? i found it on google images !!! and it was on a different forum......small world ehh ?
Yup all mine. I thought I put up a pic thread somewhere on here but can only find the video thread. Here is a thread with lots of pics in it and describing why I bought it. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13443
Scrap Son just finished scrapping out our old Dodge Concord 28' motorhome which I bought in 1978. Been sitting 17 years here in our Florida retirement place. Roof began leaking and cabinets rotted. Saved only the 440 Dodge and torqueflight with under 50,000 mles. My dream was to build a ramp back using an antique truck front body section. Too many other things, not enough time or money! Sad to see the last of the frame and rear end go yesterday. Tires only had 1000 miles on them with new front brake job moving then only 10 miles. Should have advertised it and maybe someone else may have used the rolling chassis.
That's kinda sad, Cat. But I sure can relate to dreams with no time & money. I want to do so many things but times waning and money has already waned.
