Sel if dont like the finger deal (works a treat) use a screwdrier in conjuction with what ever lube you decide to use for older sticky things it always works a theat

victory! without putting my fingers into it it was just seized in the open position and wasn't an isuue till it was about -30 celcius then after work i discovered that the door hadn't closed just bounced back and there was some snow inside which then melted while i was working and froze again so now with the ice out and the latched cleaned and lubed i took her out for a spin and got the oil changed, tires rotated and balanced new air filter and fuel filter, i even found a floor cup holder at walmart(not as good as the old school ones)................. but what is?
I forgot it's cold up there. I had several cars in Illinois in winter that would do that. I had some kind of small spray bottle of clear smelly liquid to spray on things to melt the ice. "Lock thaw" sounds right. Then make sure you use a good thin lube like WD 40 or PB Blaster. Moving to Florida cured our icy door lock problem. But the limit for Canadians has already been met for this year.
