You might want to write your local newspaper with your story. Also, it would help to post pictures with the stolen and info in buildings in the area, perhaps someone saw it being taken and are unaware it was stolen. If this were me I'd be printing posters and putting them everywhere I get permission to do so. School kids see stuff in alleys most adults don't. Seniors out for walks.
Thank you so much for the photo posting. Hoping to pull a "lost dog" type flyer soon. Today I was off work. Did a double yesterday....16+ hrs. So...I just drove. Cleveland suburbs....armed with info, eyes, my phone and all the areas dispatch numbers , at the ready....me and my yellow S2000. I drove all up and down the roads where my wagon was maybe sighted and COULD be. I stopped at every gas station, tire joint, spoke to area firemen that were out ( 5 of 'em ) fixing the hook and ladder thing....landscapers that said, when asked, that they work in the area alot.....told everyone my story. Over and over...tell yr friends, this is what it looks like, here's what the vanity plate looks like. Etc. One girl at a BP....thought she'd see it at ( of all things ) heading up a funeral procession last Sat. ( same day a co-worker says she may have seen it on a near-there road.)....thought it was weird, it stood out. Says " I swear on my life, that it matches that description " . Admits to not seeing the plate, but felt the rest matched. We exchanged numbers and she's gonna talk with a girl she knows was there. Gonna email her for the funeral home info, and it's location....to quiz THOSE guys too. Cops are busy. I get that. They are noble people. But...I'm not about to sit on my laurels. Woman scorned.....look out. Makes for detective extraordinaire. Esp if someone messed with their beloved wagon. lol Thanks again for the mental support. LOVE YOU .
My son had his Accord stolen from a shopping mall parking lot two years ago July 4th. It was a plain-Jane four door beige Accord. Yeah, it's going to be found, sure. I called the cops at the station precinct responsible for that area every day for four days...guess what? The car was found abandoned in a seriously $hitty part of town, with a damaged ignition lock, but otherwise undamaged, and with 355 miles put on it. Had I not been on the cops' radar for that time, they'd have notified me a WEEK later, while the car was accruing $55.00/day storage, plus tow fees! Instead, I got it back for the tow fee and one day storage. If they DO find it, they are surely not going to be in a hurry to notify you...not with the money to be made in storage and kickbacks! Remember, the LE is NOT gonna find your car, more than likely. It's gonna take YOUR hard work and sleuthing to get it back. I really hope you get the wagon back soon. But, don't count on the cops to call you if they do. Stay on them! Daily!
And as suggested by Saf57 but we did not hear a response from you regarding ...... Did you go to local businesses in the area to see if any surveillance cameras caught something/anything on video tape? Mite be too late now if you didn't but still hope you find your wagon.
Thanks Tedy....my feelings 100%. I've shifted into the angry phase. Going up to the Crossfit joint today....just to stake it out. Then drive around. Dispatch is on speed dial on the phone, and charged up. Will keep you posted as to the "drama". grrrrrrr
I hope there is a special section in hell for people who steal other people's cars....particularly old woody wagons
Yes. I agree 100%. Karma needs to rear it's ugly head.....big time. I'm making no progress except to be speaking to the bldg manager to get some footage of the dirtbag that may have taken my car, and see if the across the street joint has the actual crime footage on any camera. Detective I was assigned, is lukewarm concerned...at best. Wildly disheartening. Driving around endlessly to see if I can spot it, in a parking lot, apartment complex.....driving...anything. Just making myself crazy, mostly. Trying to stay the course. Sigh....
My sincerest hopes you get it back. It mortifies me someone would steal such a vehicle. I do not mean that in an unkind manner, I have a 1990 Custom Cruiser too. I hope you get yours back in one piece, and prosecute the creeps to the fullest extent of the law. God Bless!
