Back then, everything was designed geometrically harmonious with specific rectangles and curves. No abstractness to be seen anywhere. I wouldn't be surprised, if that alone contributed to general happiness. Nowadays, were seeing a suicide boom of Millenials who never had a chance of experiencing attractive surroundings
Sadly the only curves the Millennial’s (some anyway) are experiencing are the ones on their A$$ as they do all their shopping and socializing via their droids and Smartphones. A 5 & dime to a millennial is the bag size they get their weed in.
I remember back when the price of a MacDonald's burger was used as a unit of measurement, in order to determine the economics of the country it was priced in. A Dime Bag would be perhaps an interesting unit of inflation measurement. Thanks to going off of the Gold Standard, today's Dime Bag would probably fill a thimble
I guess you’re not a fan of Nixon? Lol. Yeah love the government now. They measure inflation X food and energy. Ummmmm I don’t know hardly anybody that doesn’t drive, and I know nobody that doesn’t eat.
Check out that rare option on the '61 Chevy on the left. They called it a Grille Guard and if you look close, you will see a small Pull Knob with a Chevy Bowtie on it in the middle between the Bumper and Guard. This is the Hood Latch extension. Behind the Pull Knob is a Cable that is attached to the original Hood Latch lever. Cool option back then. Pretty valuable today, although I believe they are reproducing them now.
Yeah, back then, you could help yourself to free parts. Nowadays, they have to build the latches within the car, to keep everything under the hood secure
