I loosen a cooler line fitting and do my own fluid replacement on the 4L60E.
I put in some Dexron VI and won't have to do again for another 50K miles hopefully.
Simple, effective, and quite messy if you're not careful... :rofl2:

Why don't you start by telling us whether the car has the 307 Olds motor or the 305 Chevy motor, since either could have been installed.

i had mentioned back in post 3 that it has a 305, but it was kind of mixed in the middle of the paragraph.

i put a zip tie around the pressure cable and its too thick, it shifts too late now.

im wondering if a vaccum problem would cause anything, its not wanting to stay in OD either, and i was hoping the cable would be the remedy there also

I really wish you wouldn't have done that, Jase. It doesn't take but a few hundred feet to trash that tranny if the balance is forced way off. Do you have a pic of your engine? Joe P has a point.

Well...oddly...they were all CALLED a 305 but a few were actually a Chevy 305 but most were the Olds 307 that were, for some reason, called a 305. That's why a pic would be good....unless you KNOW it's an actual Chevy 305.
