A few of my favourites -Toronto -The Headpins -Lee Aaron (The artist, not the band) -Honeymoon Suite -The Spoons -Helix -Streetheart -Triumph Anyone else remember the early Brave Belt albums after Randy Bachman left The Guess Who and before they got renamed as BTO? I once caught one of the early Crash Test Dummies shows right here in Guelph. The opening band for The Northern Pikes cancelled. At the time we were pretty angry about the replacment until we heard them play! ...and Kim Mitchell's earlier days as front man for Max Webster! Canadianbands.com has a pretty cool collection of CanCon stuff for those who are interested. (For those who don't know what CanCon is. The CRTC mandated once upon a time that a certain percentage of all radio airplay had to be dedicated to CANadian CONtent. While the mandate still exists these days, it's so outdated that it's almost useless)
Lowest Of The Low's "Shakespeare My Butt" album is on my trapped-on-a-desert-island-with-10-CD's list. There's nothing about this album I don't like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inzoL0NDsm0&playnext=1&list=PL0A1D916CDF2A2530&index=5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OLIef7kKFM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLN5Lh303yA&feature=related
