Of course, in Oregon, it might have been 50 or 60 degrees F out, too.

Your right. Maybe all those things are true and maybe the owner is taking the picture. It was just an observation and Glide-Aways did suggest that perhaps the window on the other side could be open. We all love our pouches and most do know how to look after their pets but we have all heard the stories.
    Didn't mean to upset you.

    :)

No assumptions were made. If you read my post, you'd see that I said I HOPE a window was open on the driver's side. I didn't "assume" all the windows were closed. I phrased my comment in the form of a question.

As a dog lover myself, I totally appreciate where you're coming from when it comes to people over reacting based on assumptions. In your case, clearly that person jumped to conclusions. It must have felt horrible to have animal services come. And I agree when you say, "most people with dogs know how to look after them"; key word there is "most"...not all. I once rescued a dog from an idiot who left theirs in their car with all windows closed in an outdoor grocery store parking lot...in So. California. Poor thing was panting and scratching at the window when it saw me approaching my car. I respect your position, truly I do. But I too get "testy" when people care more about their errands than their pets.

Very well stated Fannie, and thank you! You also raise a great point that I had not thought of in that maybe it was the owner who took the picture. Thanks for that too! Can you tell that frightful day in the grocery store lot has stuck with me?

If it were one time I have had animal services or the police called, it would be one thing. It happens at least once a month. Keep in mind, I work nights, the dogs are with me, and I am normally in the car with them. One day I had some fool complain the dogs were overheating because the car was closed with them in. Yes it was, because the engine was on and the air conditioner going full tilt! You could almost see breath in there! Sorry if I got testy, but it has happened way, way, WAY too often.

Warmer or cold, IMO both sides should have the windows open a crack..... unless it's 100+ and then IMO you should never leave your dogs in the car unattended period, some cold weather also.

However what I think every dog lover has missed in this pic is how clean the way back windows are. Those dods clearly have not been in that wagon very long at all, a few minutes maybe.

There is NO dog nose snot line on any of that glass witch would show up in the picture= they have not been in there long at all!;)

I had a Caprice wagon. Same color, same year.
My car had woodgrain, wire wheel covers, and a 396/4bbl under the hood.
Rear facing third row seat, factory air and 8 track stereo too.
    :yippee:
Back then I had an Irish Setter.
I wish I still had both of them.

:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:Okay I'm laughing here! I don't have a dog but do love them. I do have a wife and love her.
I agree, most times she should not be left alone in a car.
She has been known to slobber on windows and she does shed hair terribly.
So far I've never caught her having sex in public....at least not with others. She has been known to terrorize others.
I do try to keep her clean and disease free. But she refuses to wear a collar and be put on a leash.
    Maybe I should get a dog instead.

    1) Yes, they do. They are Man's Best Friend and should be afforded the same privleges.
    2) I agree. I like cats, but am allergic to them, and do not object to a dog chasing a cat until the cat's little paws give out and the dog enjoys a quick, yet hairy, snack.
    3) So is every person walking the planet...your point?
    4) Dogs help define civilization. Look at the Middle East. Nearly all are dog haters. Look at those jackasses. Anyone who hates dogs can not be trusted at all. Period.
    5) That is one way they mark their territory. Some people piss on walls. To me, that is far more disgusting.
    6) Some people do, too. Go to any public park in ay big US city
    7) Some people do, too. Fly to Amsterdam sometime.
    8)
    9) People get all kinds of crap all over everything - spit, snot, pee, bodily discharges of various origins, you name it. At least, a dog can lick its own butt. If a person could do that, he/she would make a fortune in the adult entertainment field.
