I am not a truck driver, but I deal with them on almost a daily basis. They can be an interesting sort for sure. I am sure the Poncho is safe and secure, but I also know from experience that the suspense can be almost unbearable. I am sure you will hear from him soon enough. Until then, you can breath on the window to fog it up and then draw a snowman and a wagon to pass the time...

So I called the driver again today.........
First heard little kids playing in the background (?)
Identified myself, asked when he might be getting into Portland?
    "Monday or Tuesday..."
Told him I needed some advance notice of him getting into Portland. He seemed surprised by this. Veritable fountain of information this guy was.....

OK....I've about had it with this situation whether you have or not, KK.
Where is this guy located? Is he in Wisconsin? Are you sure that he has picked up the car? Did you conform it with Tim?
I'm beginning to smell a rat. As nice as this car is I always wondered why it stayed on the market for a year.
Let me know where this guy supposedly has your car. I will send some people to see him and find out what's up.

KK - I agree with Fox. This is sounding like he is not in any hurry to deliver your car. Or even if he is intending to. Did you happen to check this guy out with Better Business Bureau or is there anything on line about him? And references you could call just to find out if he's really what he says he is?

Document every call, and every attempt. Get the dispatcher to email or fax you a confirmed schedule.

Well, he has absolutely no money of mine, only a wagon, and no title (I've got the title). So if he wants the money for transporting the wagon, he's have to bring it to me.

I'll wait them out Monday and Tuesday. We'll see what happens.

Can I ask what company you are using? I was actually surprised my Buick got here as quickly as it did.

Company is called Intransit L.L.C., based in Washington. They were the only ones who gave a bid to the shipping broker. I was sorta stuck with them.

Jeez - I figured they might be a rather small firm, but only one truck? Now, you've got me worried.....
In other words, I've been dealing with the company's dispatcher, owner and driver, all in one.

Krash, if this guy is running a small shipping business he's probably trying to orchestrate another pick up along the way or some kind of load to haul back to increase his earnings for the trip. If he's anything like some of the knuckleheads on the Shipping Wars show....some of those guys are about as warm and fuzzy as an old dishrag. I bet he'll come through for you, but I would inspect the car BEFORE handing over any money and have your cell phone in your pocket just in case. Might not be a bad idea to have a neighbor or trusted friend there with you when the truck comes.
