It's a rust thing. They salt more than McDonald's here. My Caprice has major floorboard issues from the years I drove her in the snow. I ain't letting it happen to the Colony Park. My Silverado is rusty, but trusty and will serve me well in the snow, like last year. It doesn't help they don't plow here and I work in a different town.

Yup, winter is here, everything was frost covered this AM and stayed frosted for along time considering the sun is out today. I guess this weekend I'll be putting the snow tires on my honeys ride.

Nobody has touched upon it yet but I think the absolute worse thing about winter is NOT the weather but more the lack of sun .... damn, depression is a sad thing? Maybe that is why I hold off "topping off" the vette .... to get that final dose of sunshine.

The people that live in Fla, SoCal and all the other "sunshine States" will never understand unless they experience it but, having grownup and lived half my life in Southern California and moving north at mid-life, I still wouldnt trade my winter doldrums for the stresses and issues of living in the crowed conditioins of living in the sunbelt ..... just saying.

Welp, I just ate breakfast, guess I will go back to bed now!! LOL

We've had a really unusually nice Fall here. Cool and chilly. Got frost this morning but back up to 50 by noon. I can take that. They say this winter is gonna be one cold SOB, because of the Ozone hole in the Arctic, apparently huge. We've already had -50c weather here a few years ago, and lived to tell about it, but the lack of snow would have made it even tougher.

The car's ready and the house will be in a few weeks. I'm good.

You have never listed where you live, nut, but I can relate to that. Especially toward the end of winter. Grey days are a real bummer. I lived in CA & FL and I actually got tired of the sun every day. But grey days are much worse.

I'm with you there. We get a lot of sun here, so when it turns grey, I listen to some good classical Mariachi music, to remind me of palm trees in Guadalajara. Quebec's winters get lots of fluffy snow, without our deep-freeze, and they can stay grey for over a week at a time. Here, in the Prairies, it changes overnight, most times.

Whoa! -50 degrees Celsius would be -58 degrees Fahrenheight here! In my lifetime I have seen it -42F in Madison, but, it gets much colder in Northern WI. The lowest recorded temp in WI is -55F. Hey....I hate TALKING about winter!:yup:

    Fixed ....

... ironically I spent over a year near the DMZ of Korea and the latitude is nearly identical as my current Northern CA location ... but most interesting the most westernly location of the contenential US is nearby.

Most people are not aware that Las Vegas NEV is due north of San Diego CA ..... interesting!

:nohijacking:A person who hi-jacks his own thread needs to go back to bed! Personally I don't think you legally can hi-jack your own thread. It's already yours...........:49: Now I'm confused. I'm going back to bed!

Well, friends. I'm another step closer to prepared. Got a snowblower today, used, but a dandy for 125 bucks. She's even got electric start!
