Both of those are nice! 14K mile Lacrosse...that's a new car! I do like the styling of the Lucerne better...and it's a bigger car too.

My buddy bought an 05 SRX for his wife. He has a 07 or so C300, the ring dang do one with special interior etc. Now he can't seem to get out of the Caddy and let his wife drive it. Every time we see them it is in the Cad and he is behind the wheel and loving it.
Caddy's scare me....have seen too many fall apart, and parts are expensive....besides, I have a $13K limit. I'm not going into debt on a used car. I found a really nice '06 Grand Prix GXP with only 34K miles....in my budget! Only issue is, it's in Ventura County California. Doh!:banghead3:
Flights are cheap nowadays. If it is truly what you want, time for a road trip.......................... Or, if the price works, get it shipped. Just sayin..............
IF you are thinking of flying into CA....do yourself a huge favor. Rent a cheap car and drive through a ton of used car lots in and around L.A. It will blow your mind.
The car lots in the L.A. area look like there's a car show going on. The California cars in that region make even Texas cars look like junkers. And they are priced reasonably. Especially for people from the North that are used to seeing rusty cars on car lots or from the South where they have been baked. We see cherry California cars here on the forum all the time and when you go there the lots are full of them. If they are CA cars, that is. When I lived out there, long ago, I was astonished at the condition of the cars that were sitting on lots. Or, driving around the streets, for that matter. Most people that live out there aren't even aware that cars rust or get sun baked. It's like car heaven.
Yup. Living virtually my entire life in California (and not doing much in the way of traveling..), I never realized that rust was a problem. First time I became aware that some areas have trouble was when we traveled to Hawaii in 1986. Unless it spent a significant amount of time somewhere else, most everything you see in Southern California will be pretty much solid. Certain areas have their exceptions, of course. Desert areas will have sun-baked paint and dry interiors; beach area cars might have a bit of surface rust. And some cars out in the San Gabriel Valley could have damaged paint (pollutants).

Hi Gang! Drove over to Houston today and pulled the trigger on a new toy below for my wife. I think this is a pretty good replacement for our black 2001 Grand Prix, and I SURE like it better than that Impala we were going to get. I did not want a "normal" car, and while I don't like new cars very much.....I'm digging this thing. 2006 Grand Prix GXP. Despite the fact that it doesn't have a tailgate and is wrong-wheel-drive, the thing is a total blast to drive. 303hp 5.3 V8, burbles like a Trans Am, and she really flies!! Got a great deal on it too, and it came with a 3/36 warranty to boot. 64k miles, 1-owner, been in Houston since new. CLEAN as a whistle. I've got a few little things to do to make it "ours", but overall it's in great shape. Anyway, thought I'd share my latest Poncho. Here's Dad, who came along for the ride, along with Misty and Eddie checking out the GP. It's not the G8 or GTO that I could not afford, but I think it's pretty cool! Oh and as soon as I got home tonight I took off the dorky window vent shades. I left the sunroof shade...I was scared pulling it off might mess up the paint. Got 28mpg on the 3-hour drive home..not bad for what's basically the same engine as our Suburban has. Zoommm! Leather and suede inside, Tap Shift automatic, 9-speaker Monsoon stereo, and I'm getting a kick out of the Heads-Up display. Also like the engine-turned metal trim around the gauges. Shades of 70's Trans Ams. Neat touch! I'm still mad GM killed Pontiac. If they'd advertised cars like this, maybe they would still be around. Misty really likes it. Hope it holds up for us! Oh and here's a couple of pics from the dealership. My oldest kiddo liked this goofy thing in the showroom. I think these are silly... But much worse than the Volt was the new Spark...Eddie begged me to sit in it....I swear this butt-ugly thing makes a Chevette Scooter look stylish. I'm embaressed it has a bowtie on it. Fun day! On the way home we ate dinner at Goodson's Cafe in Tomball just north of Houston. Dad had seen it featured on Man vrs Food. They had the biggest chicken fried steak I've ever seen. It was awesome...hahaha. Misty and the kids drove the GP home, and Dad and I followed in my Ram. About 3/4 of the way home Misty punched it and was gone. My phone rang, and my oldest son said "Mom wants to know how our dust tastes....?" Nice. Just got home a few hours ago....and just got done washing both the GP and the Ram. Though you folks might like the pics. Take care! -Mike
