What the heck did the owner of that Vette have in mind? I can't imagine what he wanted it to come out like.

C'mon Stick, tell us what you got!!

You know I'm not huge Vette fan but this is really disrespectful.

Well we are done for the day. And the new car is. A 2001 Volkswagen Passat 4Motion 3.0L wagon. All in all a great day. The wagon has a bunch of options and only a few problems. The valve covers need new gaskets. There is only one of those special keys so we need to spend a lot for a spare so we each have one. The rear wiper doesn't work and the windshield washer motor seems kaput. But it runs and drives well. Has good power. A few scratches and dings but we can live with that. My biggest problem is that it's gold. I hate gold cars. I was also hoping for a car with leather interior just because it's easier to clean and keep clean but also cause it wears better. But the seats are pretty neat. When I got in it I thought gee the seat is low. And I am 6'4" tall. But after we got it home my wife found a lever that jacks the seat up. Best thing is now the wife has AWD which is what she wanted for the winter. We went out looking for a Subaru for just that fact. And we were kinda forced into the VW because the people selling the Subaru's we wanted just didn't seem interested in selling them between not answering our calls or not returning them. Their loss. In the end this VW is just an Audi in cheaper clothes. And the Audi we had before was light years better in the snow than our old Subaru. So we know we have a good car. and here she is.

Congrats on your new Passat! I have a 2002, in a metallicky, olive green. Overall, I really like it and it's been a great grocery getter, kid hauler, commuter for me for a number of years.

Hey, congrats to you and the Mrs, Stick. It looks to be in fine shape and it's great to have another wagon in our fleet!
    Best of luck with it.

If you do your own work on this, remember: to access the engine front, you loosen and pull the front clip forward. I've repaired several Pussats with this body design, and you actually save time if you move the front clip forward. Otherwise, you suffer sheer frustration and massive stress (and a desire to go back to war with Germany). But that is a nice wagon, and I don't know what you have against the color, because it could be Yukon Gold (in actuality a bright yellow), which is what our '66 Bug convertible had.
