OK, here are some new photos of the Di-Noc, more close-up. Taken to show condition of the woodgrain (not for framing or composition of the photo). Enjoy.
One more photo for now. If you look closely, you can make out the reflection of the Subie in the C.P.'s woodgrain.
Hey Rev, It was in Victoria. The ad was up on cars-on-line.com for a long time. Once I was back in NJ I e-mailed the site to ask them to update the status. Now it doesn't appear there at all, but there is still an ad for a blue '90 CP for sale from Idaho. It looks super clean, but there appear to be minor dents in driver's side rear door and rear wheel well. We all know that finding NOS Di-Noc for sheet metal repairs is next to impossible, and it's just way too expensive to have 3M do a limited run of the correct grain pattern. (A guy selling a '67 Concours Estate on e-bay had posted that when he was restoring that car, he wanted the original pattern and he had to buy about 1000 feet of it for 3M to agree to the production run. :banghead3
The X in the VIN tells me that the car was assembled in St. Thomas, Ontario. FYI the seller told me that after a certain date, ALL Colony Parks (whether for the U.S. or Canadian market) were manufactured in Canada. I think it was in the mid 1980's.
WTF?!? A black Colony, I would remember seeing that yet I've never seen it nor ever seen it advertized localy.
Tedy, I think it was only advertised online. The seller would get offers to buy it locally before he ever intended to part with it, so those offers never went anywhere. I think an acquaintance of his had been after him for some time to sell it, but that didn't materialize either.
