As I have said in the past, the success of this forum is the result of having excellent members. Without them, this place would be like a lot of other forums mentioned in this thread.

    My turn.
I haven't spend much time at all on forums or the internet. Hubby got me a laptop for my B-day a couple of years ago. I started checking out Kijiji, found Fannie. I started looking for info and parts for her and found Canadian Poncho and you guys.
I have found CP to be just as inviting as this site. And neither one of you seem to have a problem or treat me, any different because I happen to be a female car owner with very limited machanical knowledge.
However, I for some reason I seem to perfer this forum over the other...not sure why but I guess you guys are stuck with me. :yup:

Earlier today I was out with sis, we came across the beautiful '66 Chevelle SS two men are talking beside it...I'm drooling. I go over with a poster for my carshow and invite him to bring his car. I asked him a couple of questions about his car, mentioned my wagon, I didn't get anything back in the way of conversation...nothing, they just stood there...I suggested he bring is car to the show, complimented his car again and left.
Not sure if I took them off guard approaching them like that but that's what I do. Or if the didn't know what a Beaumont Wagon was, or maybe didn't care. Or maybe cause I'm female with drool on my chin, they just didn't want to talk about cars??? I don't know? Maybe he'll bring his car to the show or maybe not.

However, great thread Cat, thanks for posing the question.

Im still pleasant to all...(Thats the way I was raised)...but Lifes to short to have to deal with bitter/annoying people ;).

Soooo....anyhoo....this is the only board I attend now...my woman thinks its funny...that Im so attached to people Ive never met !!:D

But I think that speaks volumes about the people on here !!!!!
