Geeze....in one day this car is at $5700. I don't know what they are worth, but, if it keeps going like this it may set a record. What amazes me is....you can't really SEE the car with those artsy photos. Yet people are bidding it up. Or his friends are. :)

A good possibility. But, hey...did anyone ever notice that the cars on Ebay go for tons more money than the similar car goes for on the street? People are NUTS. They do no homework at all and believe everything a seller says. Unbelievable.

Ever since they have started showing Barrett-Jackson,Mechum auction houses on tv that specializes in collector cars prices of used cars go up every year. People see a car being sold for tens of thousands dollars and think they have the same grade of car being sold there. People don't realize if they do a home restoration on their car that none of these auction houses would accept these cars since they only fall in to a low grade od a daily driver.

Happens every day on Wall Street. Auction fever. Stocks don't make any sense these days, and cars are even closer to our hearts, so they milk it.

It's kind of like an old boss said to me, when I asked him why his $14 million in sales furniture factory wasn't unionized. He paid better than union wages, had better benefits, cleaner factory dust systems.

He said many had tried, but gave up because the people had the best. His son's bigger factory went bust twice (the old man bailed him out) because he was too busy competing, and he had a union. Our boss wouldn't hire his folks. He said they get this idea that they have to fight for more, like the Stockholm syndrom. He said it was a cyclic thing, like PMS! :rofl2::whew:

I got my last wagon for $695 wish I had dropped another engine in it,now my wishes she had let me.I just bought a 74 Ford F100 runs and drives for $300 there are deals out there you just look twice as hard. Right now my truck is off the road because of safety I am rebuilding the brake system. The same truck I have now is averaging,$2,000 or better on Craigslist in the same condition. This is a link to my truck. I have found a LTD II wagon for $895 but I want to look around a little more before I get it.The guy that has it owns a car lot but mostly sells smaller cars so it should be there when I am ready for it.

Very nice 'ol XLT, SS. If you can find someone selling their vehicle that just thinks it is an old car and has a reasonable price on it you're lucky now days. Especially, wagons! But, yeah, they ARE around. I sure am having a hard time finding them though!

They are hard to find in the South but with the network potential we have here and members who would be willing it would be a great way to find wagons we want or dreamed of if the buyer will be able to travel to look and buy if they are in another part of the country.

Like a wagon relay network? A bunch of guys load up at one end, pick up a car for a member down the road, pick that guy up and drop another car off, etc.

It seems we can find them, and most of us know what to look for (bad rust, engines, etc.), and we could always hookup at internet cafes and ask. Could be a good idea.
