Love those old ads. I've never seen a Big Chief running board and I used a lot of Thrush mufflers. We need some HONEST CHARLIE ads.
I had a friend in Albuquerque, who sadly passed away, but he worked for a fabric design company in Detroit when he first graduated from Pratt. He/his company designed about 4 ‘62 Buick Skylarks with Electra 225 interior appointments. Leather, the whole 9 yards. He bought one of them that was a rose colored with a dark metallic red top. I would love to have have a one off designer model of some of those early ‘60’s midsized cars.
When I see that mid-50’s model petroleum truck I always think of North by Northwest, and the tractor that Carey Grant tucked under when the plane hit the gas hauler.
I would imagine even at 70 mph that was still probably a hot ride in her ‘65 with that full length mink. It’s interesting that by that time they were still kind of extenuating a fin angle.
