Well guys i got the grille done how i wanted but now that its on the car im kinda on the fence about it. I thought in theory that this would look awesome but now that ive done it i dunno if i love it. I like it but it doesnt just shout bad ass to me. I still havent finished the nose piece yet but it will be going gloss black. Leave me your honest opinion in regards to how the grille looks.

Not sure I'd do the red trim on the grill, but I do like the 'Bonneville' script in red...... And yes, the nose cap needs to be matched to the body paint.

    f1zzy,
I posted this on the PY forum, too.

I think the red is a bit too much.

I would go with a dark/smoke gray grille and replace the center red accent stripe with argent silver.

Keep the red-filled "Bonneville" emblem; looks great!

Personally, I like the red on the grill. It ties the front end in with the rest of the car nicely. My one question is whether or not you plan to install the lower body molding again. Personally, I like that on these cars. It is what sets the Bonneville apart from the Catalina, after all. Then again, I have always been a fan of having a car look as much like the top of the line luxury model, and keeping the bad@$$ attitude hidden until the throttle opens or the road twists, then surprise the H3!! out of people.

Hey thanks alot guys for your honest feedback. I promised i wouldnt get mad :banghead3: lmao. I like it i just dont love it im still on the fence about it. I need to pull it outside and really get a view of the entire car to get that feel for if its gonna stay. I am going to put the lower rocker moldings back on it but with a twist. Im gonna wet sand all the moldings with 320, 600, 800, etc so it brings the shine back. Then im going to paint them black but use a rag to wipe the black off the ridges to creates long parrallel lines going down the bottom side. I did one like this and it looks amazing, expecially once you get that coat of clear on the moldings it really makes them pop. Here is a pic of what im talking about.

So i took the old girl out on saturday and drove her around the block to wash it. Man am i ready to cruise this thing! I got a few more pics of the car outside. The grill looks better when you can take in the entire car. I got a few pics of the interior. The front seat is at the upholstery shop and the rear bumper will be sent out this week to get rechromed. GETTIN CLOSE!
