His picture was taken at the Pigeon Forge Rod Run. I saw it there, this past Fall. We had discussed it, at that time. Seems like he wants around $12k for it.

$12K? Did they just legalize pot in Tennessee?

Looks like the woodgrain may have been painted over, or possibly it's been stripped off and the area painted brown. A very good reproduction of this applique is available, so there's no excuse for this on a high dollar car. The rest of the paint doesn't look that good (surface rust from powdering?), the dash pad is cracked, the bright work is poor, and the kick panels look rough. I'm not thrilled with either the steering wheel or the rims -- although this is a matter of taste -- and as for the original owner's manual he touts so highly, I can get you all the original '68 Ford owner's manuals you want at $5 a pop.

In my opinon, $4k is optimistic.

If this is as clean as it appears to be, I could see $4k and maybe even $5k. As parts, the car would be worth a fair amount (the hide-away headlights fetch big bucks), and even if your intent is to drive it, not part it, that is still a consideration.

$12k seems crazy, but the final bid on this auction should help answer that question.

By the way, where are the best waves in TN?

I know the NOS hide-away grilles are through the roof, but I didn't think used ones were quite that expensive.

I honestly think this car has too many shortcomings to be worth $5K. I own a '68 Country Squire, and I think it's actually a little better than this one. I'd be surprised if it were worth quite that much.

Looks like he wised up, and set a reasonable reserve. It sold for $5800, half of what he was originally asking. That's one thing about Rod Run prices, they can be ridiculously jacked up.

Think the seller did OK, considering the state of the paint, dash, di-noc, rear cargo area, etc. It was far from being a $12.5k car.

Although it would be nice to have a 390 4 barrel. :D
