They ordered the wrong parts...these have to go back! Maybe, I'm hopefull that she'll drivable this summer.
Come to think of it i may have a factory GM tissue dispenser from a 67 caprice. I'll have to look next time i'm in the basement.
So, finally the new tie rod ends are on. Everything is tightened up. Wheels are back on. Hubby was planning to clean her out today but it's to windy to keep the wood stove going and to cold to be out there with out it. But it is supposed to warm and rain with the next system on Tuesday. The next thing that has to be done is to cut off 6 b-mounts, 3 on each side, because they wouldn't work loose, hate the sounds of that but I guess that's what has to be done. Then she can go to the body shop. Hang in there all you guys that are growing old waiting for this resto. It is taking alot longer then we had hope but stuff more inportant keeps coming up.
"Hang in there all you guys that are growing old waiting for this resto. It is taking alot longer then we had hope but stuff more important keeps coming up" We all gotta do what we gotta do! Just keep plugging away at it; she'll get finished!
Fannie: Keep the faith, and the old girl will be back and looking spectacular before you know it! Can't wait to see the pictures!!!
We stopped into the B-shop this morning while in town, hubby had another doctor appointment. We talked to Alan(the body man). He still wants to work on Fannie, even though we are about two months behind. I asked him if he would be interested in completing ALL the body work instead of just installing the quarters and he is...great. Robert the guy I was hoping would do the body work is in poor shape right now. He is scheduled to have back surgrey and will be out of commission for a long time, this willl be his 2nd spinal surgrey. He hasn't said that he can't do it but I work with his wife and it seems pretty obvious to me that there will be no way that he'll be able to under take this job. The bad news is that Alan has taken on another job, of course, and it might be another month before he and take on Fannie! Shooot! I think my head is going to pop...all this waiting stuff. However, this up date is to say there is still no up date...again!
Hang in there, fannie. It'll get done and when it does you will REALLY enjoy it after all the pitfalls!
Hubby had to lift the frame up so the body guy can around there to attach the new quarters, he's been grinding and painting the frame. So here's a few pics...
Hi Fannie, Thanx for say Hi on my posting, your project is getting done too. Progress always feels good! Great to be saving these old cars, isn't it? Best from SoCal, Tom
Your welcome Tom and your right it does feel great saving these old gems. Fannie was so neglected. It would have been awesome to have done a frame off like your doing. But that wasn't to be for us. Silver the frame was not sand blasted, hubby used a grinder and a spray can rust paint.
Nice, I bet your glad your fannie is getting worked on,,,,er, I ment.......Oh heck, you know what I ment, fannie
Yeah I know what you mean. There is nothing that brings a smile to my face faster then my hubby grinding on my Fannie. Thanks Tedy.
