I don't recall if I passed on this incredible link, but if I didn't, promise you won't bite too hard!

Wagon roof carrier bars and fasteners, tailgate seals and hardware, you name it, they've got it. Even convertible tops and pumps... :yahoo:

Each major section is a PDF file, so right-click and download. E.G.: The Body/Roof catalog is 3.94 MBs.

Cowl came in this AM and I was pumped up...if you all recall I have to do the dreaded cowl replacement....come to find out there was more rot then I had anticipated so I have a contact out in CA who hooked me up...he sent me an entire (upper/lower) cowl along with the extra metal extending out to the door hinges and a quarter of a way down the side cowl apron....only took 3 days to receive it from Greyhound!....Anyway wanted to share some pics and show another piece of the puzzle is being taken care of on the grocery getter

yeah Stormin Norman what a difference indeed! I won't feel like I am dipping my feet in the pool....I got a good deal on it and can't complain about rust free CA sheetmetal....every cowl I looked at here in Florida had rot written all over it....I would suggest to anyone to pay the shipping fees and do it right with fresh new rust free metal...just depends on what degree of resto you are looking at....with my wagon being so rare and all, I have to grab all of the parts cars while I can because they are running out....again for $230 ($150 for metal and labor/$80 shipping) + getting it in 3 days= PRICELESS!

I had a 1963 Comet sedan with the same water leaks from the top cowl openings.

Fairmonts with AC have a side freshair vent, whereas the non-AC cars have the same layout as yours. Surprised they didn't have that modification in 1965.

I guess the whole engineering idea behind the cowl is to draw air in through the top cowl vents....the air then disperses to the driver's side where there is a air vent door that opens and closes....early form of climate control if you think about it....my guess would be that if it was a side vent the front fender would be in the way and how would air circulate around the cabin of the vehicle

The AC-equipped Fox bodies have side and centered, directable vents in the dash, with air pushed in with a stonger blower too. The floor gets a foot duct. The inlet is behind the fender well, on the passenger side between the door hinges, and just in front. But the whole heater/air box is totally different from the non-AC box too.

Non-AC Fox cars get a similar system to your air 'chimneys' with pull handles on each side below the dash, similar to yours.

The tunnel section usually has a raised reinforcement stamped and spot welded to the floor pan where that 'cross-brace' seat support runs. Helps to preserve the floor's rigid qualities and support the seat(s) from excess stress. PITA to rebuild though.

I ended up buying a stock 289 air cleaner assembly off of ebay...it is the 3 piece unit that will fit for the 289 2 & 4 barrel engines....metal isn't pitted and another example of a nice rust free CA part....of course I will need to repaint it the original gold color but at least got a hold of this one

Now promise you won't beat me up! Promise!... OK!

I've had this link since 2005, and I've posted it a few times, way back when I was doing my restoration. There is no other link on the web like this one. It's multi-national, every make on the planet, almost every car club, anywhere, who usually have more links. You won't find a more central site to find parts sources. 110,000 links, all categorized, by almost any way you can't imagine! It should be down there with OldStationwagons.com (but I never asked Stef)

    http://www.automotive-links.com/ind/ind.htm

It's tricky to navigate back to this top level page, so I right-click to open a new page or tab. The problem with that is that the side menu disappears. To save you some time, click on American Cars (under 'A'), then Ford (which gives you Mercury, Merkur, all their lines...), then Classic Fords. Then scroll down to Falcons.

OR hit Mercury on the side menu, and scroll down to Comet.

Takes a bit to find your way around, but you can always hit the U-Turn button (Back). :rofl2:

EDIT: Asked Stef to locate it somewhere central, we'll see...

I know I am bouncing back and forth between repairs , but I saw a cool video this AM on www.powerblocktv.com....they were doing a roof repair ,and I thought this would apply nicely to my roof situation on the '65 falcon wagon
