Sounds like a decent deal.... Pontiac Tempest Wagon - 1964 - $1200 (Springfield, OR) Date: 2011-01-14, 12:08PM PST Reply to: see below Have a 1964 Pontiac Tempest Wagon. Only 800 of these were ever made! The good things are this thing is straight with no major rusting issues. Just needs sand and paint. It has a brand new Hellwig Tubular suspension (worth over $2,000) and 4 wheel disc brakes. This is a project, so nothing has been done with the interior and it does need a motor and transmission. Looking at $1,200 obo. Call Dave at 541-954-2003 during daytime hours. Location: Springfield, OR it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
I saw that in my local CL. Probably no more than 20 minutes away. I can have a look-see if anyone's interested.
Yes, and Oregon is a good climate for aging these old cars! Sounds like the owner is up front about what he's selling. Honey! Where's the checkbook???!!! Oh year, I forgot. I'm out of storage.
LOL.....teej posts it and later KK see's it going by his house on a trailer. Even with no engine or tranny.....someone jumped that one quick.
Interesting story. In 1963 the Pontiac 326 was actually 336 c.i. But because GM wouldn't allow a bigger engine in a small Pontiac than Chevy Corvette they called it a 326. Then in 1964 it really became a 326. I believe that the 63 326(336) was one year only.
Didn't know that. I did know that the 4-cyl that came in the first Tempest was half of a 389.... ------------------------------------------- Yup - that wagon must have 'lived' up the road from me. Not to many people up there, either. I never saw it before. I sort of live on a long, dead-end road, with a couple of dead-end branches. Kinda like a box canyon thing.
