I'm digging this. Looks very well built. Says they used station wagon doors and roof to build it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Ranche...tr=true&hash=item2ee18efdd3&item=201352740307
Gonna have to share this on Ranchero.us. The only thing I can't tell is if the bed is actually shortened to stay on the wagon frame.
Over all I like it, but that thing looks very very longgggggg! I bet it is as long as my F-150 extended cab with its 8' bed. And if the reserve is in the $20,000 range it will probably sell.
Appears to have the standard Ranchero bed length. Frame is extended. Rear station wagon doors would normally have the cut-out for the wheel opening, so in this case, the builder modified the doors by (probably) using the lower rear corner section of another set of front doors, to square them off.
ngthIt looks like it, now that you guys make those points. Too bad they didn't shorten the bed to keep the stock length.
I remember with three kids I wanted a pick up truck. All I knew about were those ugly Dodge RR quad cabs. As soon as Ford came out with the supercab in 1975 I traded my 1972 Gran Torino wagon for a Ford Supercab with 8' box. Then a 1977 Ford Supercab built as a Camper Special to pull a 5th wheel RV. Now everyone has a truck with a rear seat and I've had a Dodge quad cab for eleven years.
