I don't doubt it. I spent $92 on groceries, and I feel totally ripped off. I was able to carry the bags and six-pack in, and could've carried double.
Well, another not in 100k range, but another what in the world? 77 Chevette with very low miles, but still a Chevette for $21,000. I'd rather have the Mercury Colony Park that just sold for $20,000 for sure. 1977 Chevrolet Chevette for sale on BaT Auctions - sold for $21,000 on February 5, 2023 (Lot #97,628) | Bring a Trailer
"Possibly the most desirable collector car ever produced by the Big Three in the latter half of the 20th Century. Gentlemen, I present for your consideration the 1977 Chevrolet Chevette." Said no one, ever.
How about a 72 K5 Blazer for $440,000? https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1972-CHEVROLET-K5-BLAZER-CUSTOM-SUV-262625
We have a family friend that is a jokester. He had a Chevette for years. He always told people he had a "Vette" Clearly omitting the fact that it was a CHE-vette, not a COR-vette. It's always the first thing I think of when I see one of these.
I knew it…….. German square weave carpet. No wonder that things a half a mil all in. Wonder if they have a his and her pair.
Not crazily overpriced considering the usual craziness on BAT, but $23k for a 1984 Toyota camper conversion, with 217k miles (TMU) on the odometer? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1984-toyota-4x4-pickup-19/
I've seen Grand Wagoneers go for $50-$70k.. Never seen one go for over $100K 33k-Mile 1983 Jeep Wagoneer Limited for sale on BaT Auctions - sold for $111,000 on April 19, 2023 (Lot #104,498) | Bring a Trailer Sold for $111,000
I follow a number of Wagoneer folks on some of the social medias. There have been a number of 100K+ sales over the past few years, but I don't think they have been highly publicized.
Why would this Mustang be above 40k? 1989 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 Notchback 5-Speed for sale on BaT Auctions - ending September 7 (Lot #119,612) | Bring a Trailer
I've concluded that BAT could be renamed "Is There A Crazy Person Who Lives Near Me With Money To Burn". If there's a couple crazy people who live close to the seller of a car on BAT with money to burn, who really, really, really *really* want a particular car, the car will be bid to crazy prices. The same car in a different state or province will not be bid to equally crazy prices if there are fewer people with money to burn. Sounds obvious, but it's true. I suspect the price that a car will be bid to depends mostly (not the only reason, but mostly) on where the car is located. Here's a 1993 Mustang with 44k km. (~25.5k miles), not a notchback, for $CDN 35k (~$US 25.5k). Too far away to attract the same crazy prices, is my guess. https://www.autotrader.ca/a/ford/mustang/winnipeg/manitoba/19_12668638_/?showcpo=ShowCpo&ncse=no&orup=6_6_6&pc=M3A 3J7&sprx=-1 Another '93, 67k miles, also not a notchback, $US 34,900, Westville, NJ. Getting up in price, but not $US 40k. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=687752288&allListingType=all-cars&city=Ogdensburg&endYear=1993&isNewSearch=false&makeCodeList=FORD&marketExtension=include&modelCodeList=MUST&numRecords=24&referrer=/cars-for-sale/all-cars/ford/mustang/ogdensburg-ny?endYear=1993&isNewSearch=false&marketExtension=include&numRecords=24&searchRadius=500&sortBy=relevance&startYear=1989&transmissionCodes=MAN&trimCodeList=MUST%7CLX&zip=13669&searchRadius=500&sortBy=relevance&startYear=1989&state=NY&transmissionCodes=MAN&trimCodeList=MUST|LX&zip=13669&clickType=listing An '89, "believed" 12.5k miles, Lutz FL, $US 35k miles. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2760215716...55-0&campid=5337650957&customid=&toolid=10049 I think if people were really looking for a particular car, they could find it elsewhere without getting caught up in crazy bidding wars on BAT.
