No Reserve: 35k-Mile 1992 Ford Taurus LX Wagon for sale on BaT Auctions - ending May 23 (Lot #108,137) | Bring a Trailer This is pretty nice.
Certainly a high optioned example. Do not remember seeing a Taurus/Sable wagon with a sunroofand had no idea you could get a picnic table.
Believe me, that leather upholstery in this is MUCH preferable to the cloth they used in the GL trim, which was similar to the mohair in my aunt's '48 Plymouth. The 3.8 liter V6 is a good engine for it, too. Plenty of power, and fairly decent fuel economy, if you didn't put your foot down too often. Not as much room as Crown Vic Country Squire, but more than the next generation Taurus, which was even more rounded. VERY nice wagon.
Yeah they required a lot more frequent maintenance in order to make them last. Fluid changes every 30,000 miles or so. My aunt had that done on her Sable wagon and it still has it's factory transmission on it.
Been searching for a Taurus wagon myself. Specifically an 86 LX in red but have had no luck. Been searching for almost 6 years now and had the chance to get a white 86 LX wagon in 2019. My dad got in the way and I wasn't able to get it. No luxk since then...
