No Reserve: 1986 Pontiac Parisienne Safari Wagon for sale on BaT Auctions - ending July 2 (Lot #112,287) | Bring a Trailer
Gorgeous car. Shame that it keeps being flipped. Woodgrain is WAY shinier and brighter than new, but honestly I'm kind of digging it. Not sure why they replaced it when the previous listing for it from 3 years ago shows the woodgrain looking just fine. The only thing that would give me pause on owning this era of car is the R4 AC compressors just flat out suck.
This woodgrain looks a lot better than some substitutions I've seen. I'd be fine with it. MY only problem with this wagon is a personal one - I HATE red or maroon interiors. Wish it was the beige that a lot of these had. Would go much better with the exterior, too. (To be honest, I don't care much for red or maroon exteriors, either....... I just don't like most things that are in the 'red' scale.......)
I think he replaced it due to the upper part of the tailgate faux wood was delaminating along with the surround trim. Personally I would have wrapped the trim and painted the area black if I couldn’t find a matching piece of wood decal.
