Text says the moon roof is not factory....

Interesting little black trim panel between the rear door glass and 1/4 glass.....

Not sure what to make of this one. Some dealer that decided to showcase a 'brass hat' special wagon in his showroom? Some owner that wanted a unique one-of-a-kind wagon?

Price is at least $4k high.

Sorry, I missed the text about the astroroof in my excitement to post this stunning Buick!

Still - this is a very impressive looking 30-year-old time capsule! I like it a lot! (y)

This one needs the factory finned aluminum Road Wheels to be perfect. I like the factory Buick five-spokes, but I like the finned wheels MUCH more!

I personally prefer the chrome Buick road wheels, but that is just a matter of personal opinion!

Regardless, we can agree, this is a very beautiful machine!!!!!! :yahoo:

Yup, the black trim at the rear door glass is...??

As for the sunroof, our friend Suzie who gave us the 87 Buick, the big Buick her and now "X" husband had prior (blue on blue woody) had a power glass sunroof just like this one. It was not factory as in GM did it but had a extra sticker on the drivers door jam with a company name and all the fine print something like.."this vehicle has been modified outside of factory prior to sale, meets all safety bla, bla, bla. My old 80 Plymouth, Dad bout it off the show room floor for my sister, had "factory" t-bar roof. But it wasn't factory and had a extra sticker in the door jam also. I remember that companys name, It was Concept Customs bu can't remember where they were located. It also had all the fine print and I do remember it saying 'this viehicle has been modified from it's factory specs,, bla, bla, and conforms to all safety.........

So for the sun roof..... Could very well have been there on the show room floor, just not factory.....??

There were quite a few companies in the southern California area doing moon roof installations back in the 80's and 90's. It was hard to tell from factory in most cases. The moon roof kits were manufactured by various companies (Webasto was one I remember, still in business IIRC), installed by local interior trim outfits usually.

Even if the sunroof is aftermarket, this Buick is a stunning museum piece! I'd doubt there's another one like her! :D

No finer wagon out there i'd say!

But why is the second seat vynal or leather and the front velour?

You could actually order it that way from the factory back then. (We've had a thread or two about this topic). Mom and dad sit in the comfy velour seats up front, while the rug rats in the back and way-back with their sticky candy and ice cream get the vinyl - easy clean-up.

That's very true - we've run across this 1970s-1980s Buick wagon upholstery arrangement before.

I like it, but not a fan of the coach lights on the c-pillars. I have never been a fan of those on any car for some reason. I didn't like them on the early 70s Fleetwoods (where they were optional).

    Is that wood-grain color original?

Also looks like another one of those with a cloth front seat and vinyl rear seat. We have seen this before on these.

    Nice car though!
