No Reserve: 1982 Ford Granada GL Squire Wagon for sale on BaT Auctions - ending April 3 (Lot #186,228) | Bring a Trailer Did Ford jump their mid size wagon around between this and Fairmont and LTD in those years?
1981 was the last year for the Fairmont/Zephyr wagon. In 1982 they changed to this body style (Granada/Cougar) for the wagon. From '83-'86 they used the LTD/Marquis body.
As Kevin identified them, these were all on the same 'fox body' platform, just with different front ends, different instrument panels, and trim, etc.
Even some of the IP's were eerily similar. I always thought it'd be neat to take a front end off of an 83-84 aero LTD and stick it on a Future coupe. Or take the header/grille setup from an 80-82 Tbird and put it on something like this wagon. It'd remind alot of ppl of a Country Squire then with the covered headlamps!
There have been a few Mustang noses grafted onto Fox wagons. I'm not a real big fan. That Futura with the LTD nose is the only one I know of. The Fairmont and Granada had a very similar instrument panel to the Mustang. When they changed to the LTD/Marquis in '83 they changed over and started using the 80-82 Thunderbird instrument panel.
