1979 Ford Pinto Squire Wagon for sale on BaT Auctions - ending September 30 (Lot #56,281) | Bring a Trailer
Should have taken that money and RUN. These were awful cars when they were new, 40+ years hasn't been kind to them.
Well if they had the German 4 banger they were tolerable, however I had a ‘79 pinto wagon and the little picky stuff like fit and finish were aggravating. Cute though.
Sorry, I have to disagree. I had a '79 in the early '90s, and it was a great car. In fact, I've had 4 Pintos and a Bobcat, and I loved all of them. I don't know about $8700 for this one, however, as the "replacement" woodgrain is non-authentic and looks a good deal like that sold years ago by JC Whitney, which did not have a reputation for durability. Also, I thought the deluxe steering wheel was part of the Squire option. This car has the standard wheel, and, like all Pinto Squires of this year, it's a high option car -- map light, AM/FM Stereo, rear window defogger. The underneath appears to be very good, but I can't tell from the photos if rust or other flaws might be painted over.
