They have V8 conversions for these things? http://newhaven.craigslist.org/cto/4630561619.html Toyota Cressida Wagon with woodgrain, 6 cyl automatic, runs and drives. Extra fenders & doors. Asking $1,500. V8 conversion available. Leave call back info if not available.
Don't know why you would bother converting it to V8 power. The Toyota OHC 6 is a decent engine. Later versions of the Cressida had basically a Supra engine in them (DOHC 6), just maybe a bit de-tuned.
I would be one who would feel compelled to put a small V8 in if a kit were available Never could leave well enough alone as my wife puts it. If it can go and go fast then lets just make it go faster I kind of liked the overall look of these wagons at the time. They are an okay size for kicking around in town, just to me always looked kind of neatly done.
Again I end up agreeing with Krash (scary isn't it? ). The Toyo straight six is a marvelous engine and quite capable of giving one all the power needed and allow for good handling at the same time. mike
