http://www.ebay.com/itm/1977-Chrysler-Town-Country-/111806782264?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 Looks well done overall. I'd want to add back the wood grain myself.
I would have also swapped out the interior door panels unless the interior color of the front-end donor Imperial/New Yorker did not match.
Check out how much nicer the seats and door panels from the New Yorker look. It would be a much easier swap than the front end. I can only assume the color did not match.
I like it, wish I could see it! Wagon is in Victoria, before I even looked at the license plates (BC) I recognized where a lot of the pictures were taken..............
Agreed. I believe that after the Imperial name was discontinued after '74 or '75 and the New Yorker Brougham name was applied to what was basically the same car. If you're going to turn a T&C into an Imperial/NYB wagon, you may as well upgrade the interior. Maybe that was on the to-do list before the decision to sell.
Apparently "sold" for $7500. I'd say well bought. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1977-Chrysler-Town-Country-/111806782264?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
About the door panels - They do NOT swap between the New Yorker and the Newport!!! Looks like they might, but they do not swap out at all. I was looking for lowers for my '78 New Yorker Brougham Salon, and compared the two. They are NOT interchangeable.
A lot of times the panels will interchange if a couple more holes are put into the door for certain mounting points. The doors themselves are listed as interchangable so the interchange manual will probably list the few little changes that make them work from NewYorker to Newport.
Doors interchange - yes. Interior door panels - no. They do not line up with the door handles, which are totally and completely different; and the power window switch banks are completely different also and are wired different. The contours are also different. They do NOT swap out. Ain't gonna happen. I'm quite certain the seller, who is active on the forcbodiesonly.com forum, would've accomplished that, if they were.
