This is so quirky, weird, outrageous and in such nice condition that I'd be a buyer, but, just not at $8K! Of course, If I were to buy they thing I'd have to get me a hat and coat like Kramer on Steinfeld.

Rare because no one wanted one then....or now. About as interesting as a Pacer.
    No thank you.

No one? I'd drive a Matador or a Pacer in a heartbeat. Just don't have a need for another car.

Well, as a James Bond fan, I might consider this one from "The Man With The Golden Gun".

    Here's its sedan counterpart...

It's too bad AMC didn't have money to design a new 4-door Matador. We might have seen something like this.....

And we might have had this as well.....

My brother worked in the garage back in the day at the local AMC dealership and he would have me come down on the weekends and check out these cars and the Pacers too.

They were poorly built and always had loose interiors parts and they always seemed to find their way back to the AMC dealership for warranty or repairs.

Its ashame they didn't have a better quality or sufficient quality control at the factory's when built . I wouldn't have anything built by AMC... well maybe from the 60's I might consider a Javelin

If I had the money and the place to keep it, that Barcelona is one that would be in my driveway. Odd, yes, but extremely comfortable, and very rare. This was a pricey car in its day, and it shows now. After all these years, too, all the build quality issues will have been sorted, anyway.
