I wish the admins would make a classified section for sedans also. I'm looking for either a sedan or wagon and posts like this sure are helpful.

One thing I love about that Oldsmobile is that it is a true hard top! Beautiful cars, all of them.

They sure are! I wonder how many of the 2dr '74 98's had that airbag option?

There are a couple of local mid 70s Olds here for sale... one is like a '76 Toronado (silver car and looks nice, not sure of price) and ironically about a mile from there is a '76 Ninety-Eight 4dr hardtop, also a silver car and very nice, but I don't think it is $6000 nice. lol. I looked at it yesterday just to be nosey and it had $5995 on the window sticker.

I used to have a '71 Caprice 4dr hardtop about 13-14 years ago. It was light green with this exact same color of interior. I paid $300 for the car and sold it to a guy in Miami for like $2400. :) I wish I had of kept it, but it needed more work than I was able to do... at least it was a RUNNING car, which is more than I can say for my wagon. lol.

The interior (seat material) on this '71 Caprice 2dr appears to have been redone... this is plain looking cloth or vinyl and these cars originally had a beautiful brocade cloth interior.

In 1974, the seat fabric on Caprices actually went to a smoother fabric just like this example. Only 71-73 Caprices had the brocade cloth. Interestingly, Impalas for 74 continued to have a pattern in their cloth fabric.

Yeah, I am thinking that the '74 had some little grooves and I think I remember the '74 Impala cloth with the pattern.

This '71 appears to have been redone with some plain old vinyl.

Here is another nice Caprice sedan... this one appears to be vinyl, but it does have some pattern to it and not just all flat vinyl. For some reason, they kinda cheapened the seating material on the 75-76 Caprices.

Here is the '74 Impala interior... nice!

and the '74 Caprice interior... looks more plush as it should, but don't have any design/brocade pattern, which really marked the upscale cars in the late 60s/early 70s...
