That is Mike McCoy. He has the nicest wagons. Looks like a great wagon. Wonder what the reserve is

That engine should be fine with a new timing chain and gears?
SBC's aren't interference engines so there shouldn't be any internal engine damage.
I bought and sold one of those about 35 years ago. It had a blown head gasket so I got it if for 75 bucks, replaced the head gaskets and sold it for 150 bucks.
And I thought I robbed the guy I sold it to.

Looks to be in beautiful shape. A timing chain and gears should have it back up and running. If the reserve is not too high, this could be a great deal.

Well I am surprised as the reserve is met at $3,500. Bet it doesn't go that cheap though

Right now, it is at what I paid for my '72 back in 2007. ($4100). I paid $4K cash for mine.

But yours is a big block Caprice with better options. Looks like you better list yours as this one is going crazy. MIght be a good time to capitalize on the market

SOLD for $4300. That's pretty amazing given it needs a new engine. Interest in the GM clamshells clearly is on the rise and not strictly as demo derby fodder anymore. :yup:

Let's face it, given some of the ones we see out there, you could spend more than this on one with a GREAT drive train and poor paint not even much rust repair. Add rust repair and the body on this one is starting to look like a bargain. Add a new or rebuilt engine, and you are still well under the price of doing one up!

I agree, Mike. It is a very sound Impala. But it is a very recent phenomena for a dead-engine clamshell, no matter how nice otherwise, to command nearly $5000 without a working drivetrain! That's good news for all forum clamshell owners! The better days for these wagons may finally be coming! :dancing:
