    Saw that listing earlier today.
Can't figure this one out. I imagine very few of these Torinos were built with the 460 in them. But why would somebody order it then lock it up? It certainly wasn't ever going to be a collector vehicle that would be worth a lot of money......

I was wondering the same, and also if the wagon was never registered why does it have a windshield inspection sticker? If it were in Canada (my part) the only way it would have a inspection sticker would be because it's been registered/insured...yada, da, dada..I don't trust this one.

It's green, plain jane, and a 460 to boot, but magor lack of pictures and a starting bid of 10grand with reserve not met??? This could just very well be the next wagon of the year we see 4 sale on ebay for the next couple + years....and we have seen several of them.

    I agree 100%.

100,019 miles and all the original documentation included, I'll believe.

In CT it is possible to get inspected prior to registration.

Additional photos could verify the mileage.

If this was a legit 19 mile car, no doubt it wasn't stored as a collectible. Perhaps the owner died and it was just put aside? It has happened before.

More pictures might help tell the tale but I don't see anything about it that I would trust. What would possess a seller to shoot photos of a classic "low-mileage" car without a wash and at least closing the hood? A fine example of caveat emptor.

C'mon! Hey....if you had a car that you were asking $10K for and had only 19 actual miles......would you show only FOUR pix??
Looks like a new speedo to me.

I would have to see a whole lot more pictures, like the interior and carpet around the accelerator pedal, to believe it only has 19 miles. He claims it's a rare barn find; yeah, I would think so if it really does have those few miles. I need a whole lot more explanation, thank you very much. I'm not sure about back then, but in New Jersey/New York, dealers put on the inspection sticker whether the car gets registered or not. The fact that it's from '76 and most likely, the original sticker, would be further evidence of the 19 miles. I agree with you guys; shine that puppy up and make it look like a 19 mile car, show me tons of pics inside, out and under and then maybe I'd believe it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it even looks like one of the dog dish hubcaps on the right rear is missing.

The other thing, and this may be just me but....if this were true....would you really WANT a car that has sat for 34 years?? Sorry...not me.:disagree:

Ya if you expect to collect 10k the least you can do is spend $500 on a bang up detail job so that the car actually looks worth it.

I agree with all of you guys. I am constantly horrified by some of the ads on Ebay for classic cars. As stated, many people don't even wash them before taking pics, let alone staging them for best lighting etc. I've seen trash on the floor of some cars, muddy tires, small grainy photos you name it.

Look at that guy who keeps trying to sell his 1972 Cadillac wagon owned by Elvis. He has terrible pics of it. I even wrote him and told him so. He even wrote back and agreed with me! did he fix them? Nope.

Don't you love photos of cars and in the trunk or back seat you see anti-freeze jugs or tranny fluid bottles? Nothings says "I need work" more than that.

Ebay is expensive to keep relisting cars over and over. Investing in a good detailing and taking large quality photos will often pay off right away.

All depends how many years it was stored outside. Just down the road from me is a 2007 or 8 Dodge Charger with the police pacage, hasent moved sence the tempory plates ran out, just sitting in the weeds.

I agree completely. There's been a guy relisting a mid '70's Fury Police Package for some time now. The thing has been sitting in a garage since it was retired from service and it LOOKS like it's been sitting for 30 years. There are parts stored on the hood, 30 years of dust on it, etc. It's like it's a barn find and he's sending pictures to his mechanic to see if it's worth buying rather than something that he's attempting to present for sale. It just doesn't make sense. On the other hand...how many times during your typical drive to work do you shake your head at just how many stupid people are out there. Based upon that maybe it makes more sense than we want to think.

Yeah, wiz. One thing I learned over and over in 35 years of running my own marketing/advertising agency is........never over estimate the American public.:biglaugh:
