No Reserve: 1974 Opel Kadett Wagon for sale on BaT Auctions - ending February 1 (Lot #64,763) | Bring a Trailer
They shift OK but it takes some getting used to, like Alfa Spiders. A friend of mine in Collage had a slightly older version of this car in Orange, it was fun and hauled alot of beer! I used to barrow it for the MPG it got when I went home for a weekend, better than my 69 GTO I was driving! I am glad it doesn't have the FI engine, He later had a 74 Manta with the FI engine that we ended up converting to duel Webbers to get it to run decently.
Basically a Chevette wagon…if you look closely even the doors are the same. I recognize the undercarriage as well.
You are correct, when they started making the next generation Kadett, GM Moved the tooling to the US and revised it for US production and regulations, instant economy car to replace the "much loved" Vega. But you have to like 2 door wagons, maybe not the most useful body style but still Kool. I miss my little 78 Sunbird wagon.
