Some clean green machine. Back in '75 you could also get your kitchem appliances in that color. Our fridge was Harvest Gold, it aged just a little bit better. What a time to be alive. Always hoped Jimmy and Beth would make a go of it. Shame that Rocky died. Wonder whatever happened to Angel ?

Angel became a centerfold in 1981. My blood runs cold just thinking about it.

Wagon owners could still woodgrain their appliances with good ol' contact paper

Hmmmmmmm. Let’s think of some cute marketing names shall we? How about the Whirlpool Woody wagon? The GE Fridge Squire? The Amana Ice Box Estate? Feel free to chime in!

Our 1975 GE looked just like Before. Like the knotty pine paper on After. Gives off a rustic, woodsy, feel to the room. Maybe the Maytag Muskrat.

I remember thinking at the time the G.T. Elite came out, that is was an unnecessary vehicle, and probably pissed off a few executives over in the Mercury Division, who were trying to sell virtually identical Cougars. They didn't need Ford raining on their parade. Ford wanted a Monte Carlo / Cutlass Supreme, et al competitor of their own though, so it made sense in that respect.

Oh yes. No way Ford could not have the Elite. The "personal luxury car" market was huge back in the early 70s. Monte Carlos, Cordobas, Cougars and these Elites were everywhere until the gas shortage of 74 took hit. So, so, lucky I bought my Celica in 72.
